It’s often the little things we choose to pick up; on; or not. We recently had a literal fun “walk” with one who kept interrupting himself with, “and yet.” And yet, hopefully, in our own life paces, we would reply in the same way by and by, and yet; connecting with thoughts beyond the commonness of ourselves.
We are often lulled by the commercial foreground and background, and the liturgy and phrases of church attendance, even Christmas carols that proclaim God’s wonder, His acts, and His story. And yet, like overused commercials, we fail to relationally connect
with motions and emotions, being our entrance of spirit to His Spirit.
Father, thank You for the loving whispers of Your Spirit, even as Your creation speaks through sun and wind, blowing leaves, fog, sleet, and snow, even forest animals. Open our eyes to see the deeper needs of those passerbys around us, to the point of care, even to greet or speak of Your kindnesses.
And yet, “I fear that somehow your minds may be seduced away from simple and pure devotion to the Messiah, Jesus, just as Eve was deceived by the serpent and his craftiness.” Choose to pick up on God’s messaging, His Word (Jesus) and words, written and read or sung or hummed this Christmas, unto life.
