Yes, counselors and mentors, those men and women who are wise in their field of endeavor, have a work to do, a work beyond the obvious of record-keeping, listening, and talking.  Even multitudes of parents have a generation of experiences to be wisely used for their next generation.  Wisdom comes from intentional study; otherwise, we repeat over and again our own mistakes, even unto the following generations.  Isn’t it interesting that Magi, the wise men from the east, studied men of science and heart of mind, were moved to travel such a distance to worship Jesus, offering other than their wisdom.
Father, thank You for Your “offer of wisdom to all generously and without reproach,” if we but come and ask.  Bring us to the point of Your instructions being our counselors, our delight.
Imagine this Christmas the very wisdom of God, “having demonstrated His own love for us in that the Messiah, Jesus, died on our behalf while we were still sinners,” to the point of us understanding it was His gift, for the taking.
Matthew 2:1-2, 11, ‭‭James ‭1‬:‭5‬, Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭24,‭ ‭‭Romans ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭CJB‬‬ ‬‬
